More sketchbook work – liking using a wee bit of collage with a lot of textured paint. I used black card instead of white which makes a difference.
I did this painting this morning in order to cut it up for the latest in the song series. It wasn’t intentional but I did quite like it in this state. It has now fallen foul of the craft knife and is in little rectangles to fit a wood frame.
Just a couple of recent pics – nothing else to say. Hope all is well with all who see and you’re not just clinging to the orange crate in the flood.
And it shows…I’ve been drawing exclusively with a pen for too long – I don’t know what I was aiming for here – it’s all gone fuzzy. Hey ho.
I did this last year at a painting night class. It is acrylic on paper – and I think I used an old credit card as a palette knife. I found it in the artshed this afternoon and it reminded me that there is more to image making than wee drawings. I’d like to explore this kind of thing further. For once I didn’t filter this through an app.
Sometimes the quality lies in the act of drawing and not the result. This was quite meditative in the making.
And this is the very cheap supermarket fountain pen I used to do it. Apparently sales of fountain pens are on the rise – despite today’s omnipresent techno methods – this is a good thing.
Finally working on the piece that I might enter for the exhibition. Don’t know how it’s going to turn out but hey EVERYTHING is an experiment, right? (thanks Josh LaFayette)
Some playing around with acrylic paint, cardboard and various materials I did about a year ago. I’d like to do some more of this.
