Hoarder, moi?

There are probably more – and I wouldn’t rule out getting more either. What I would really like is a Rotring artpen style clutch pencil – which they no longer make. The maroon rotring one in the pic has W. Germany on it – so I’ve had it for a while. There are worse addictions a person could have.

Ok, I’ll get back to enjoying the fabulously hot, sunny day we have here in the dear grey place.

  1. If you ever want to get rid of any of those, I’ll help take them off you! They all look so nice, I think your addiction could be catching if I’m not careful – I like mechanical pencils although only have maybe 3…but one if them is dedicated to blue lead which I only found in Germany and not here in the aforementioned dear sun drenched grey place. The sunshine is AMAZING! Enjoy! πŸ™‚

  2. I always love the drawings posted on your blog, but I particularly appreciate this post; there is something truly to love about the tools of our trade, the tools that enable our creativities to come alive. For me, it’s a fondness for my red Lamy Safari fountain pen when sketching, and when getting into deeper drawing, my Pigma Micron pens. But yeah, there’s also always something special to an artist every time you hear the click of a .05 lead advancing on a mechanical pencil, you know that so much is going to happen once you lay down the first graphic line onto blank paper.

    • Thanks for the great comment. I just love art materials and oddly enough I’ve just started using a very cheap fountain pen for drawing again. I take it that the Lamy is good for drawing? Some fountain pens can be a bit scratchy I’ve found. I have heard of a lot of people, including http://ziggyshortcrust.wordpress.com/ who like micron pens. They are not widely available in the UK so may have to source online. Jeremy Fish uses them so they must be ok. Ok, enough pen babble – happy drawing!
